The City of Suffolk has Council/Manager form of government. In November 2008, Suffolk elected its first directly-elected mayor, the Honorable Linda T. Johnson. With the addition of a mayor's position to the Council (with one Councilman for each borough in Suffolk), we have a total of eight individuals on City Council.
